Buffet is a clothing label with a progressive, independent and arty style. In the beginning, they produced t-shirts with designs by young artists and defined their own unique style during that time. The logo I created depicts an abstract hourglass, where most of the sand is still in the upper chamber – a symbol for youth and beginnings, attributes which are strongly associated with energy and creativity. The firm’s main selling channel was board shops, and boarders were their main target audience, so the logo had to include boarder aesthetics. In my opinion, these made a nice contrast to their arty and independent fashion style.
